Housing Resource Center (City of Chicago Grant) Through our Housing Resource Center, we provided essential education, mediation, and support services to the community. During the year, 634 individuals participated in our educational workshops, and 110 tenantlandlord issues were successfully resolved through our intervention. In addition, rental assistance was provided to 14 individuals facing housing instability. Our workshops are delivered year-round and are tailored to meet evolving community needs. Topics include tenantlandlord rights and responsibilities, conflict resolution in housing disputes, cyberbullying prevention, access to community resources, personal security and safety, financial responsibility, and rental assistance programs. These services empower residents with the knowledge and support needed to maintain stable housing, improve safety, and strengthen community well-being.
The Alternate Housing Program is a newly launched initiative that began in December 2024. During the year, the organization dedicated time and resources to establishing the program, including the purchase of furniture, supplies, and essential materials needed to support individuals entering the housing system. This program is designed to provide safe, stable, and supportive temporary housing for individuals experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity.
ZAMs Hope CRC provides wraparound services that address the full scope of community needs. Our Senior Citizen Program keeps seniors active and connected through skill-building and intergenerational activities. The Family Emergency Program offers monthly groceries, clothing, and rental or utility assistance for families facing crises like unemployment, medical issues, or domestic violence. We host workshops on housing rights, cyberbullying, safety, financial responsibility, and other community needs. We provide seasonal clothing distributions, holiday support, hot meals for the homeless, and toys for children. ZAMs Hope CRC also helps clients access public benefits, including SNAP, TANF, Medicaid, LIHEAP/CEDA, and Social Security, and offers emergency food packages. Our job training program provides skill assessment, resume and interview support, empl. referrals, and a successful Security Guard training program. Our goal is long-term stability and self-sufficiency.
