The zanesville museum of art is a catalyst igniting human imagination and understanding through the visual arts utilizing its permanent collection, facilities, exhibitions, and public programs to enhance the cultural life of the community and preserve its heritage.

The zanesville museum of art provides registrations, documentation maintenance and record-keeping on more than 9,000 art objects in the permanent collections of the museum for the benefit of the general public. Marketing, publications and member services are an important part of the program services that provide an understanding for diverse expressions, and the honoring of artistic/aesthetic attainments.
The zanesville museum of art acquired 232 works of art, 79 by donation and 153 by purchase, and completed framing of 12 works on paper from the permanent collection, and conserved 2 works of art. The zanesville museum of art curated and presented 7 temporary exhibitions of art objects: thematic selections of over 175 total works from the permanent collection, as well as by contemporary or historic ohio artists, and works loaned from artists or non-profit organizations.
