Objective: to build community for those experiencing homelessness and create an access point for joining zAmya. // Clients served: 146
zAmya, North Loop Neighborhood Association and Avivo joined forces to create the project, Neighbors Being Neighbors In the North Loop, which aims to establish a shared vision in the North Loop of what needs to happen for all community members to feel safe, have shelter, and ensure support for the most vulnerable. One special outcome of the project will be a new play - made by, with and for - North Loop community members across the housing spectrum. This original play will debut in 2025 and weave true experiences with unsheltered homelessness into a fictional narrative, inspiring neighbors to dream up solutions to end homelessness.
Other programs include: ""Locked In:"" a theatrical dialogue on healthcare and homelessness created with the Twin Cities chapter of the Campaign Against Racism. "A Challenge to Change" is a joint program with Catholic Charities- Twin Citie that revolves around a play created by residents of the Dorothy Day Center and intended to initiate conversations about housing and homelessness with stakeholders in the downtown St. Paul area. General mission activities including troupe meetings and open mics.
