$293KAime provides support to the member societies for their award of scholarships, as well as certain medals and awards, including honorary membership. Many awards carry the namesake of icons within the aime disciplines of mining, metallurgical, and petroleum engineering, the steel and iron industry, and materials science. Aime also provides the member societies the annual income from endowment funds to support specific programs such as distinguished lecturers, students, young professionals, and the technical libraries.

$51KAime has a unique position in the engineering and scientific communities; it is a liaison between its member societies and the relevant engineering and scientific communities. Aime represents its member societies at joint functions and connects them to the communities, sharing best practices, and supporting other collaborative efforts to work jointly for the greater good of the profession and society as a whole. Line 4d, program service ------------------------- legacy preservation & promotion: aime leads special projects to honor and enhance the legacy of the mining and metallurgical industry, including the archive and preservation of artifacts, historical information sharing on milestones, and the capture and recognition of related, oral history.
