Programs & Activities
Program 1
$172KOregon satf's sexual assault training institute (sati) is the hub for training, technical assistance, and local support to people and organizations working on sexual assault response within the criminal justice system. This includes law enforcement, prosecutors, and members of sexual assault response teams (sarts). During this year, the sati coordinator deepened relationships with sart coordinators, updated education curriculum for law enforcement and prosecutors, and re-launched in-person training events. This work is done with an aim to improve criminal justice system responses for better outcomes for survivors and to reduce potential harm on victims who are interacting with criminal justice systems.
Program 2
$160KOregon satf's campus program provides tailored technical assistance, training, program development, and implementation support to all of oregon's 40+ colleges and universities. This work is provided to increase safety, wellness, and success for students across oregon's institutions of higher education. The campus program provides oregon's only campus-specific 40-hour advocacy training (required for advocate certification in oregon) and delivers expert support on rules, policies, and practices related to title ix, confidentiality and privacy for student survivors, campus-based medical care, and more. This program also serves as the dedicated technical assistance provider for oregon voca campus grantees (a program funded by the oregon dept of justice).
Program 3
$129KOur sexual assault nurse examiner (sane) program provides training and technical assistance to the oregon sane workforce. The sane program, with support from our in-house sexual assault training institute (sati), provided quarterly training in various regions in oregon to sanes-in-training. This training fulfills the didactic requirement for sane certification in the state. This program also operates a 24/7 technical assistance line, providing live support to sanes in order to serve and support survivors of sexual assault who arrive at hospitals or local clinics for care and to complete a sexual assault forensic exam. The sane coordinator staffs oregon satf's medical forensic committee, bringing together multidisciplinary partners in efforts to improve systemic responses to sexual assault survivors in medical settings.
