Health - the health program strives to develop bipartisan policies that improve public health and help move the u.s. To an affordable, equitable, accessible, high-value system of care for all. The health program focuses on the areas of cost and coverage, digital health, behavioral health, prevention, chronic care, long-term care, rural health, public health, pandemic preparedness, and health care workforce:behavioral health projectthe health program addresses the huge unmet need for mental health and substance use disorder treatment through federal policies to expand the workforce, ensure more providers participate in insurance networks, and make better use of the existing workforce through integration. This includes projects focused on implementation of the crisis care continuum, development of the unlicensed workforce, and behavioral health needs specific to rural areas.prevention projectled by its food and nutrition security task force, for the past several years, bpc's health program has identified policies that address hunger, nutrition, and health. Bpc launched a new task force for 2023 more focused on education (for providers and patients) as well as bridging the gap between healthcare entities and community-based organizations providing food and nutrition support services. In addition, the project focuses on initiatives to expand treatments for obesity (e.g. Support for the treat and reduce obesity act) as well as provide support for health programs in expanding nutrition security initiatives.chronic care projectthe health program improves person-centered care and equity for individuals with chronic, complex care needs by expanding the availability of non-medical services and addressing barriers to the full integration of care for dually eligible beneficiaries. The program also addresses the long-term care needs of the rapidly aging population through reforms to improve financing and delivery of ltss - particularly home and community-based services.rural healththe health program addresses barriers to care unique to rural areas. These issues include the long distances rural residents must often travel to access care, struggles to recruit and retain health care providers in rural areas, lack of broadband for virtual health care services, and financial challenges for rural hospitals.

Energy - the national conversation around energy is changing rapidly. As the united states has dramatically increased its production of hydrocarbons, the costs of renewable energy technologies have also declined sharply. The bpc energy team is focused on generating and advocating pragmatic clean energy policies through engagement with a broad set of stakeholders and experts from diverse political perspectives.
