Funds from conquer cancer are used to support asco's scientific and educational programs through both meetings and electronic education offerings. Highlights of the professional educational and scientific programs supported by conquer cancer and presented to the public in 2024 include the following: * asco annual meeting: the asco annual meeting is a global gathering of more than 44,000 participants where oncology professionals connect, collaborate, and inspire. The meeting is known for advancing the oncology field and offers an experience unlike any other, bringing together the best minds to shape the future of cancer care. *gastrointestinal cancers (gi) symposium: this is one of the premier multidisciplinary gi cancer scientific and educational meetings. The symposium offers the latest innovative science, solution-focused strategies, and multidisciplinary approaches in gi cancer treatment, research, and care. *genitourinary cancers (gu) symposium: the gu symposium offers an unparalleled meeting experience that helps attendees to remain at the forefront of advances in gu cancer care. As one of the only world-class symposia of its kind, the symposium unveils paradigm-shifting discoveries and fosters collaborations that will transform gu cancer care.

$1.3MSee schedule o:*quality care symposium: this premier meeting focuses on improving the quality, safety, and efficiency of cancer care delivery, bringing together the entire clinical care team to explore the latest advancements in quality improvement through research, education, and discussions. *merit and abstract awards: $294,000 provided two hundred eighty-nine (289) merit awards to promote clinical research by awarding young scientists whose research is addressed in high quality abstracts submitted to asco meetings with an opportunity to present their research at asco scientific meetings and disease specific symposia. $40,000 provided forty (40) abstract awards to the presenting authors of the 40 highest-rated abstracts selected for presentation at the asco breakthrough meeting that focuses on how innovations in technology create both solutions and challenges in patient care and research.
