Garden Club of Houston

Other Program Services: The Club's mission is to stimulate the knowledge and love of gardening and to protect the quality of the environment through programs and action in the fields of education, conservation and civic improvement. Programs to accomplish this mission include open meetings, flower shows, conferences, correspondence and publications.Florescence is a biennial flower and horticulture show presented by River Oaks Garden Club, The Garden Club of Houston, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. The public exhibition features floral and horticultural arrangements from garden club experts, prominent floral and garden designers, and noted personalities interpreting masterpieces in the Museum's art collections.

Public Gardens: The Club maintains the South Lawn Garden at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, the public garden at Houston Hospice in the Texas Medical Center, and supports the restoration of the MFAH-Rienzi Gardens. The Garden Club provides maintenance and embellishment of these public spaces, which are enjoyed by all Houstonians and many visitors to our city.
