Programs & Activities
Program 1
$4.7MGirls who code clubs programs are free after-school programs for 3rd-12th grade students. The clubs curriculum includes activities for girls with zero computer experience as well as activities that introduce more advanced coding concepts. Anyone -teacher, librarian, parent, community leader - can start a club regardless of experience with computer science. Gwc materials are designed so that facilitators can learn alongside students.
Program 2
$3.9MGirls who code college & career programs provides a community, both online and on college campuses, that offers networking and continuing education opportunities to graduates of summer immersion and clubs programs as well as to nonalumni. As the number of girls who code college-aged alumni continues to grow, college & careers programs recognize the need to continue to support students to persist in computer science through college, prepare them to enter the workforce, and ensure they have direct access to entry-level job opportunities.
Program 3
$2.0MMoms first is a national movement of more than 1 million moms and supporters working to transform our workplaces, communities, and culture so that all moms can thrive. Moms first is led by girls who code founder reshma saujani. Moms first underwent a name change from marshall plan for moms on january 23, 2023.
Program 4
$1.5MGirls who code marketing programs promote widespread campaigns to change the perception of what a coder is and looks like through in person events, online platforms, and books. The primary goal of campaigns is to drive brand awareness for the organization. Campaigns are typically tied to "tent-pole" moments (i.e., gwc's annual campaign for day of the girl or cs ed week) or are based on partner interest.
