Program 1

$875K

MedStar - Pass-thru grant from Medstar Harbor Hospital to the Greater Baybrook Alliance. GBA is stewarding the completion of the Baybrook Connector, a shared-use path connecting the Gwynns Falls Trail to the BWI Trail. This project will make safety upgrades and traffic calming improvements to support pedestrians and bicycle riders along the existing path, fill in gaps to create a safe environment and increase usage, connect to regional trail systems, make essential connections between neighborhoods throughout Anne Arundel County, and explore new ways of connecting community-centered economic development with existing or new neighborhood accommodations.

Program 2

$494K

Neighborhood Policing Plan: As a part of the Neighborhood Policing Plan pilot, the Greater Baybrook Alliance will work with the Baltimore Mayors Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement, Baltimore Police Department, and other key city service providers to gain a deeper understanding of the factors that facilitate violence in six distinct locations where firearm violence has historically clustered in the Brooklyn and Curtis Bay neighborhoods. This project will build capacity among community residents to report nuisance activity and code violations through the citys 311 system, implement crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED) solutions within violence cluster areas, and build locally-based neighborhood-provider capacity to deliver peer-based life coaching and intensive case management services to people most at risk of perpetrating violence.
