$360KLone star academy - bringing together the most number of texas habitatsin the nation, the lone star summit serves as a dynamic hub forknowledge exchange, fostering collaboration and innovation within thetexas habitat network. By bringing together passionate staff andvolunteers, the summit provides a platform to share best practices,tackle challenges, and explore emerging trends in the areas ofleadership, construction, volunteer management, fundraising, andmortgage homebuyer services. Through interactive sessions, workshops,and networking opportunities, participants gain valuable insights,enhance their skills, and build strategic partnerships. In august 2023,habitat texas hosted 33 affiliates with 214 attendees in 48 sessionswith an average rating of 9.4 out of 10 stars.

$191KLeader retreat - the habitat texas leader retreat is an annual gathering of23 individuals representing 23 affliates from affiliates across the state. This unique retreat focuses on developing the often-overlooked soft skills of leadership--such as emotional intelligence, communication, strategic thinking, and resilience--that are critical to nonprofit success but rarely taught. Through guided discussions, peer learning, and expert facilitation,leaders leave better equipped to inspire teams, navigate challenges, and build stronger communities. With support from funders, this retreat ensures that those at the helm of affordable housing efforts in texascontinue to grow as compassionate, effective, and visionary leaders.
