Advocacy during the period from january 1 to may 10, 2024, hsvma mobilized approximately 600 veterinary professionals (veterinarians, veterinary technicians, veterinary students and veterinary technician students) to actively participate in advocacy efforts in the animal welfare arena. Hsvma advocacy efforts are aided by the hsvma board of directors, the hsvma leadership council, and the hsvma state representative program which has volunteer veterinary members representing the organization in 32 states and the district of columbia.
