Advocacy: there are more than 17,000 full power local radio and television stations in the us serving their communities through public service, local news, entertainment programming and vital community information such as amber alerts, traffic information, and severe weather warnings. Nab advocates before congress, the federal communications commission (fcc) and in the courts.

Program 2

Innovation: created in 2012, pilot is a collation of innovators, educators, and advocates dedicated to advancing broadcast technology and cultivating new media opportunities. Pilot propels broadcast technology into the future by providing a platform for innovation. An engine for incubation. A venue for testing new technologies and a forum for broadcaster education.nab continued the atsc 3.0 virtual interoperability event with 18 participating companies to develop and refine workflows for the new television standard, as well as the nextgen tv conformance program. Nab also continued and expanded the nextgen tv fellowship program to include howard university, university of missouri, and the university of minnesota with planned expansion in 2025. This is an effort to educate a new generation of broadcast technologists and increase a new generation of participation in the industry.nab continued the development of the broadcast positioning system (bps) that can complement and augment gps signals. Nab entered into a cooperative research and development agreement (crada) with the national institute of standards and technology (nist) and launched bps in three markets for additional development, testing and evaluation.nab's innovation challenge featured companies with new solutions: an ai-centric, cloud-based solutions for enhancing real-time audio and video content integrity, a content workflow specific to audio separate ai for editing, remastering and copyright compliance, and up content workflows with audio separation ai, and a system for broadcast organizations to create thriving online communities, rich with actionable first-party data.nab also continued and expanded the nextgen tv fellowship program with howard university to include the university of missouri and the university of minnesota with planned expansion in 2025 clark atlanta university.
