Public policy & advocacy: ncld fights to improve outcomes for people with learning disabilities by actively shaping local and national policy to reduce barriers and ensure unrestricted access and unlimited opportunity for all. Despite being as capable as their peers, students with learning disabilities often struggle in school and in the workplace because they are not provided the accommodation they need to thrive.more than 90 percent are not proficient on national assessments in reading and math. Students with learning disabilities drop out of high school at nearly three times the rate of others and are twice as likely to be jobless when they become adults.
