$336KSearac's education policy work is centered around data equity for seaa students, particularly in k-12 and higher education. The organization's work includes capacity building, organizing, advocacy, and action-oriented research to connect the real experiences of southeast asian american students and parents to move policy at the local, state, and federal levels. Searac's work centers youth and community advocacy to support programs that ensure culturally responsive, diverse, and affirming learning environments, including ethnic studies programs and southeast asian american history; support for the asian american native american pacific islander serving institutions program; out-of-school and enrichment opportunities for seaa students to learn and thrive; college access for low-income students; and civil rights protections for students.

$146KImmigration - through community centered advocacy, searac works to advance the rights of southeast asians to reunite with their families and to remain together in the united states. Searac's immigration work focuses on dismantling the deportation pipeline for southeast asian americans, returning individuals previously deported, preserving our family-based immigration system, and reducing barriers to naturalization, particularly for those who have had past contact with the criminal legal system. We're creating policy changes to restore humanity and flexibility to our nation's immigration laws that continue to perpetrate violence against our communities.
