Network - the core of our work, vision y compromiso's network of promotoras (network) is a forum for promotoras, community health workers and other grassroots community leaders to exchange information and gain skills to advance equity and reduce health disparities for the most vulnerable members of their communities. Powered by promotoras and their love for the community and the work they do, the network represents thousands of community-connected leaders in regions across california and a growing number of states. Working locally in regional comits, promotoras empower community residents, advocate on behalf of local needs, and partner with vital social services in diverse sectors of the california economy. Through the network, vision y compromiso delivers ongoing training and professional development to build promotoras' leadership, knowledge and skills, validate their role as key experts in their community, and share best practices related to community health (including calaim and changes to medicaid). To improve health outcomes and ensure that the voices of historically marginalized communities are represented, the network builds promotoras' skills to advocate and participate fully in federal, state and local decision making that is relevant to their workforce.
