Programs

2 programs

Ac portland provided in-person after-school programming at 27 schools throughout the portland metro area. Students returned to a minimum of 60 minutes of fitness through sport and nutrition education, and academic enrichment through creative writing, reading, and critical thinking.

Expenses: $128K

Ac portland expanded program offerings. This included stem curriculum for girls, gender-expansive, and non-binary students as a response to the full grade-loss in math following the pandemic. Elementary curriculum focuses on math basics, pairing movement with learning. K-3 students work on numbers, counting, currency, and time, while 4th-5th graders receive enrichment in arithmetic operations. Middle school students' curriculum covers environmental sciences specific to pacific northwest forestry and geography. The goal is to attract and retain girls in stem learning and open the opportunities to careers in these industries. Other program offerings include volleyball, also designed for girls, gender-expansive, and non-binary students to attract and retain them in sports at the high school level, as well as performing arts.
