Acare was organized for the following main purposes:1. To educate and train the next generation of africa's fresh water researchers, scientists, and policy makers on the african great lakes;2. Strengthen understanding of the impacts of biological, physical, chemical, economic, political, social, and technical factors on the african freshwater resources; and3. Enhance global collaboration between freshwater learning institutions, organizations, and entities to address the challenges facing all freshwater resources with a particular focus on the african great lakes.
