URBAN FARM & COMMUNITY GARDENING: AfriThrives Cultural Farm and Community Gardening Initiative grew significantly in 2024, advancing sustainable agriculture and food sovereignty through experiential education and production of African heritage crops. Its farm in Poolesville, MD produced thousands of pounds of vegetablesincluding spider flower, amaranth, and African kaleshared across our food access sites and local markets. The farm hosted over 250 community members, students, and emerging farmers for immersive training in regenerative agriculture, composting, and climate-smart farming practices. In partnerships with schools and organizations, AfriThrive expanded its Youth Changemakers in Agriculture and Garden-to-Classroom programs, teaching sustainable farming, entrepreneurship, and environmental stewardship across three counties. YOUTH DEVELOPMENT:Reached 60 Youths in Montgomery, Prince Geroges & Baltimore Counties. BALOZI ADVOCACY & COMMUNITY:300 Resident
