Mission
Alaqua animal refuge (aar) was founded on the core belief that every abused, neglected and homeless animal deserves a second chance. Our mission is to be a leading advocate for all animals in need resulting in a kinder, more empathetic world for all living souls. Significant activities in 2024 that impacted our mission and vision were: 1) significant increases in animal admissions, spay and neuter surgeries, specialty surgeries, and adoptions. 2) completed 14 structures to provide proper shelter for our animals. 3) implemented programs to encourage school groups, volunteer groups, and public visitors to engage in educational opportunities. 4) restructured team positions to utilize efficiency, effectiveness, and increase animal care.
