See schedule owe conserve and care for local land for the health and well-being of current and future generations.allegheny land trust helps local people save local land, and since 1993, has partnered with 40 communities to protect over 3,389 acres in allegheny, butler and washington counties.allegheny land trust protects land through purchases, conservation easements, donations and life estates. Once land is protected, it must be managed in perpetuity. Each conservation area has a management plan created. Conservation areas are monitored at a minimum once annually, and volunteers work on various projects on the conservation areas.

Land stewardship: allegheny land trust monitors 17 conservation easements and continually cares for and restores 2,986 acres of fee simple conserved lands. During the fiscal year, allegheny land trust worked with 449 volunteers contributing 2,661 hours of volunteer time.

Expenses: $260K

Education: allegheny land trust conducted education programming to enhance the public's understanding and enjoyment of natural areas, including programs for schools, nonprofits and scout troops. During the fiscal year, alt reached 8,981 people at 227 education events.

Community conservation: allegheny land trust works to protect at-risk community gardens and plan for future urban green space protection throughout the metro pittsburgh region.
