The american theater for puppetry arts is dedicated to advancing puppetry in the united states by introducing the art form and vocation to broader and more diverse individuals audiences and communities the nonprofit theater will accomplish its purpose and mission by developing building and presenting original puppet-centric plays musicals and immersive theatrical experiences training a new generation of puppet directors writers designers builders puppeteers and theater administrators through educational hands-on residencies internships workshops and camps incubating and advancing puppet-centric productions created by independent puppeteers and artists as well as nonprofit theater companies celebrating the legacies of great american puppeteers and puppet theaters and serving as an ambassador of puppetry with performing arts organizations and leaders public and private funders and theatrical producers and presenters
