Best Of The Batch Foundation

Batch-A Toys - The Batch-A Toys is a significant community program where the Foundation adopts 100 Allegheny County families and provides toys and essential household items. More than 6,000 toys and household products are donated and wrapped by more than 225 volunteers at an annual wrapping party. The gifts are personally delivered by Charlie, Latasha and several volunteers along with Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve.

BatchPacks for Kids - BatchPacks for Kids is our back-to-school initiative to prepare the students to begin the school year. In addition to a BatchPack, school supplies are also handed out to students in local schools. Over 5,000 BatchPacks have been given out since the program has started. The students also have the option to donate back their BatchPack once they are done using it to help others in need.

Next Level Athletics (NLA) - NLA is a member of USA Track & Field (USATF) Three Rivers Association for males/females ages 7 to 18 that compete in sanctioned meets around the country. NLA focuses on the development of student-athletes in an environment that promotes academic development, self-esteem and confidence. NLA is not about just running and athletic training. We motivate student-athletes to aspire to achieve leadership, self-discipline, sportsmanship, integrity and a sense of teamwork. As student-athletes compete from May to July they develop both physically and academically, and are inspired to achieve their personal best. Next Level Athletics emphasizes the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle through health and wellness programs for our scholar-athletes. Our student-athletes achieve their personal goals through determination, discipline and enjoyment, with the strong support of their peers, family and community.

Project C.H.U.C.K. (Continually Helping Uplift Community Kids) - The goal is to provide our youth with the resources they need in order to give their best efforts in all they do, both now and in the future. Project C.H.U.C.K is the largest Best of the Batch Foundation program and was created for boys and girls 7-18 years old. For seven weeks, participants play a total of 20 basketball games with the ultimate goal of advancing in the playoffs and to the championship game on Championship Day. In addition to providing children with something to do, Project C.H.U.C.K. teaches them discipline, self-confidence, team orientation, and the fundamental skills of basketball, all while having a great time.

Comfort in a Basket was part of the emergency response programming that was used to help families in need during the recent COVID-19 shutdowns. With help from volunteers and donations from companies and individuals,baskets were put together that contained both essential needs such as paper towels, food and water plus educational items for kids to continue furthering their educational needs.
