Programs

3 programs

Water management - this program helps today's green industry professionals meet the need to reduce landscape water usage using advanced irrigation technology and a water budget. Using water management, along with smart ecological choices, our landscape professionals are helping protect our environment and shape california's future. Weldcp- this program is sponsored by metropolitan water district and administered by clca to create a dual certification for landscape professionals. It combines clca's water management course with the qualified water efficient landscaper course into one training. It is offered for free to all that wish to participate in southern california. Both certifications are approved by the epa's watersense program and weldcp has received the epa watersense award of excellence for the past two years.mwel- this program is sponsored by metropolitan water district and administered by clca to help landscape professionals understand the california's model water efficient landscape ordinance. With guidance from the california department of water resources, clca offers a free certificate training to understand landscaping best management practices to prepare and comply with the ordinance for landscape contractors, landscape designers, landscape architects, irrigation consultants and city inspection agencies.

Lobbying - clca represents its members before state government regulatory agencies. The association monitors proposed state government legislation, communicates its positions on those bills, and sponsors legislation in the state legislature. Clca's governmental affairs activities benefit the entire landscape industry in california and many more members who participate in clca-sponsored grass roots action.

Trophy awards - clca holds an annual awards program that contractors are encouraged to enter. Those who receive awards are well recognized within the california landscape industry as exceptional professionals who produce outstanding landscapes and exceptional craftsmanship, because winners are selected by their peers. Clca's trophy awards are just one of the many ways clca encourages quality and professionalism among its members. Publicity from the awards also enhances the image of the landscape industry and a greater appreciation of california's beauty.
