Mission

The charlotte symphony uplifts, entertains, and educates the diverse communities of charlotte-mecklenburg and beyond through exceptional musical experiences. Reaching out through the transformative power of live music, the charlotte symphony will be a civic leader, reflecting and uniting our region.

Programs

2 programs

Youth orchestras: the charlotte symphony's four youth orchestras offer extraordinary music education to the youth of charlotte. The ensembles are inclusive, diverse, and accessible to all students, regardless of financial resources. Guided by professional conductors and cso musicians, students develop their skills in a supportive environment, building lasting friendships through music.

Expenses: $523K

Community education: the charlotte symphony expands access to music through project harmony, providing free instruments and ensemble training to students in title i schools alongside arts+ at four community sites. The cso also partners with charlotte bilingual preschool to offer early music instruction, fostering a love of music in young learners. Beyond education, cso musicians bring music to the unhoused at roof above, young patients at levine children's hospital, and those in recovery at atrium health carolinas rehabilitation.
