Mission
A nonpartisan, nonprofit organization committed to educating the public, policymakers, and the media about issues that have significant fiscal policy impact. The committee is made up of some of the nation's leading budget experts including many of the past chairs and directors of the congressional budget committees, the congressional budget office, the office of management and budget and the government accountability office.
Programs
2 programs
Public engagement - the public engagement team works with civic, educational, business, and economic groups and the media to educate and engage the public about the nation's long-term fiscal challenges.
Initiatives - the organization develops key initiatives to address pressing policy issues. During 2024, the organization had two active initiatives, fixus and health savers. Fixus convenes diverse stakeholders and advances research with the goal of understanding the root causes of our growing national divisions and how they can be addressed. Health savers is a collaborative research project to develop bold policy solutions to lower health care costs.
