Community Bike Works

Cycling and drop-in: drop-in offers time to build relationships with mentors through projects including bike work and steam activities. We offer trail, track, road, and mountain bike programs that allow students to be active and spend time outdoors with mentors. Our mountain bike team competes across the state. In 2024, we hosted the national youth bike summit, reinvigorating this important youth-led conference and bringing 300 young people and their adult advocates to the lehigh valley for three days of rides, workshops, and cycling advocacy.

Youth leadership: students 12 and older can participate in youth leadership seminars on college, careers, and community. Once they turn 14, students can apply to become paid youth apprentices, mentoring younger students while learning work skills. Ronny, 12, said "i've made friends here and the best part about coming is being able to spend quality time with them and the teachers here too. Being here i've learned how to ride a bike, fix bikes, how to be nicer to people, and how to control my emotions."
