GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS - The organization's Government Affairs program has enjoyed numerous successes and features a strong focus on a wide range of key issues, including: State-level passing of construction defects reform; monitoring the affordable housing ordinance, providing input on proposed programs developed by the City's committee and any potential additional property taxes and development impact fees that could negatively hit the commercial real estate industry; preparing the commercial real estate industry to adhere to new energy efficiency requirements related to transparency and benchmarking for commercial buildings in Denver.
MEMBER SERVICES - The organizational commitment to membership services has helped to make member businesses stronger and more successful. DMCAR members enjoy the highest quality database products at the most affordable rates from its database provider partner. Members also enjoy access to world-class continuing education and productive networking events.
PUBLIC AFFAIRS, COMMUNICATION and MARKETING - The organization continues to be a proactive advocate in both municipal and state issues with a commitment to tackling the industry-wide pressing commercial real estate issues. In addition to these services, DMCAR continues to deliver the premier commercial real estate conference of the year, featuring billionaire entrepreneurs, NFL and real estate Hall of Famers, nationally-recognized corporate executives, and a forecast panel comprised of area top producers. For younger professionals, there is a robust young broker career advancement and placement service, facilitating career growth through special networking opportunities, meaningful connections to managing brokers, and access to a Young Broker Job Board.
EDUCATION - As an association, DMCAR is committed to a tradition of delivering high-value, high-reward education and professional development tools, marketing and business development resources, career advancement and mentoring for young brokers as the foundation of its professional success. In the fall of 2022, DMCAR launched the Inclusive City Builders Fellowship Program, a diverse student-shadowing program that exposes the student participants to real estate, architectural, and construction career training.
PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS and ARBITRATION - The Grievance Committee and the Professional Standards Committee both fall under Professional Standards. These Committees are responsible for ensuring due process in the conduct of hearings to enforce the Code of Ethics and in the arbitration of business disputes arising out of the real estate business. DMCAR offers its members mediation services, as well as the ability to file ethics complaints and arbitration requests through these respective committees.
