FUNDING WILL SUPPORT DBGS COMMUNITY GARDEN INITIATIVE TO RELOCATE THE CURRENT 10,000 SQUARE FOOT COMMUNITY GARDEN TO THE SPACES OF OPPORTUNITY PROPERTY IN SOUTH PHOENIX. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH TIGERMOUNTAIN, THE COMMUNITY GARDEN WILL ALLOW DBG TO INCREASE OUTREACH TO, AND ENGAGEMENT WITH, AT-RISK YOUTH IN THE COMMUNITY. THE MISSION OF SPACES IS TO ENABLE SOUTH PHOENIX FAMILIES TO HAVE AFFORDABLE ACCESS TO HEALTHY FOOD, ACTIVE LIVING AND HEALTHY ROOTS IN THEIR CULTURES. CURRENTLY, IT CONSISTS OF INCUBATOR FARMS, GARDEN PLOTS, A HEALING GARDEN, NATURE PLAY SPACE AND ON-SITE FARMERS MARKET.
