See schedule o: 21st century instructional grants21st century instructional initiative grants are awarded to baltimore county public schools/offices to fund innovative projects not funded within the school budget. The projects funded are based on essential knowledge and skills students must have to be successful in life and employment in the 21st century. The grants address at least one of the following instructional focused 21st century themes: arts & culture, civic literacy, environmental literacy, financial, economic, business and entrepreneurial literacy, global awareness, health literacy and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (stem). 21st century instructional initiative grants must address an identified need that is aligned with bcps goals for academics and key actions as stated in the compass/out pathway to excellence with the goal being to prepare each child to graduate ready to enter their chosen career, career training, military training or credit-bearing college coursework. The projects must have clear measurable goals and overall impact and potential for successful implementation. Project funds may not replace normal funding from tax-based sources. The grant proposal should describe a quantitative and/or qualitative method to evaluate the success of the project.

See schedule o: scholarshipsscholarship opportunities are provided to bcps students to attend 2 and 4 year college and universities as well as technical and trade schools to obtain the knowledge and skills needed to be globally competitive. The foundation's scholarships program are funded both through the foundation as well as private, philanthropic scholarship programs. Beef and stem scholarships funded by the foundation cover up to three $1,000 scholarships to students who attend a bcps comprehensive high school in each of the three zones (east, central and west). Scholarships awarded are based on the following: business, economics, entrepreneurial and financial literacy (beef) and science, technology, engineering and mathematics (stem). Private philanthropic scholarships vary from donor to donor in regards to focus area, awarded amounts and eligibility criteria. All scholarships have a selection committee comprised of a cadre of experts within a variety of industries, our ambassadors, who review each scholarhip application using a blind review process. They are presented to the scholarship and grants commitee for review and then presented to the education foundation board of directors for final approval.
