El centro hispano works to strengthen the community, build bridges and advocate for equity and inclusion for hispanics/latinos in the triangle area of north carolina.

Community support - reduce structural and systemic barriers preventing hispanic/latino/latinx from accessing affordable, equitable services and resources based on community members' identified needs. 16,360 people assisted in-person and over the phone. 2,215 people assisted with essentials such as rent, utilities, diapers and food.

Civic and community participation - to expand the capacity of community members and organizations to respond to, advocate for, and address issues affecting the lives of hispanic/latino/latinx, assuring representation and inclusion of latinos and their concerns in planning and decision-making processes. 1,300 lgbtq+ community members participating in support groups, activities, and workshops. 322 youth engage with youth leaders in action program to promote leadership development, college readiness, and service learning.

Education - to expand educational opportunities and spaces for intellectual growth and personal development of hispanic/latino/latinex and other community members from child to adulthood. 1,733 adults engaged through parent education, basic reading, math, and writing program, esl classes, computer class, citizenship classes, and spanish language institute. 892 children served through tutoring, summer camps, library programs, and stem activities.

Expenses: $127K

Economic development - to grow wealth, economic stability, and entrepreneurship among the hispanic/latino/latinx community members and other underserved populations. 926 people received employment services and job training in collaboration with durham tech and other workforce development partners as well as financial literacy education. At our casa for employment and leadership (cel) we provided jobs and opportunities for 245 community members with the support of 132 local employers.
