Fresh Rx is a produce prescription program funded by two grants and contracts with two hospitals in which physicians prescribe fruits and vegetables to their patients with diet-related diseases. The patients redeem their produce prescriptions at Everyone's Harvest farmers' markets. In 2024, more than 380 families participated, receiving $25 to $35 weekly for 19 weeks to purchased fruits and vegetables from the farmers at Everyone's Harvest farmers' markets. Participants in the program living with diabetes showed significant decreases in A1c, which is a measure of average blood sugar, after being in the program.
