We connect farms with surplus food to communities facing hunger.

Programs

3 programs

Field fellowship.the field fellowship is activating young people with the tools to launch solutions for our most pressing global challenges: hunger and climate change. Every year we build a cohort of around 10 humanitarian avengers. Each fellow brings a unique perspective, but they all share an unmatched dedication to making the world a better place. Fellows learn from industry experts, cultivate entrepreneurial mindsets, and gain real work experience to support the creation of their own food system innovations. The program was launched in 2023. This years cohort of 11 fellows developed projects ranged from upcycling nut shells, building dignity into charitable food, creating regional food distribution networks, and developing communication pathways to inform farmers in emerging economies to implement the most effective carbon sequestration technologies.

Sustainability.the mission of the sustainability team is to accurately quantify and translate the climate value of farmlink's food recovery to earn the credibility and trust needed to unlock funding, scale operations and impact, spur innovation, and shift the social perspectives that inform policy and legislative changes that promote human and planetary health. Farmlink connects a disjointed global food system to feed people and fight climate change, making tangible environmental impact through the following:mitigation: prevents methane emissions generated by food waste, a solution cited to be one of the most efficient ways to slow global warming.adaptation: reduces the impact of weather-related shocks on the supply chain and vulnerable communities facing food insecurity and climate stressors (i.e. Extreme weather, climate-induced displacement).advocating its critical role in expanding access to nutritious food and mitigating preventable environmental harm, farmlink accelerates progress towards international goals to halve food waste and end hunger by 2030.

Expenses: $28K

Policy.our policy and advocacy work champions policies and programs that ensure food fulfills its highest purpose- feeding people. We build strong coalitions with our stakeholders and act as a bridge between our nation's food systems stakeholders and policymakers. Through education, outreach, and action we support farmers, feed families, and heal the planet.
