Core functions - legislative affairs and science policy activities within the office of public affairs (opa) support the federation's core competency, advancing research funding and policies that stimulate the biological and biomedical sciences. Through opa's in-depth policy analyses, development and execution of legislative strategies, and communication and support for all faseb public policy initiatives, core functions provide the most direct benefit to member societies and their individual members.

Faseb journals - the faseb journal and faseb bioadvances, faseb's flagship journals, feature transdisciplinary original research that supports the federation's strategic goal to promote scientific progress and education in the biosciences.

Management support services - tailored management services are provided to help meet the precise needs of scientific societies, from their day-to-day administration to long-term planning, as well as meet the federation's strategic goal of helping to facilitate the missions of scientific societies.

Diversity, equity, accessibility and inclusion (deai) program - provides a suite of opportunities for working scientists throughout the life sciences. Using a unique, multifaceted approach, faseb's deai program seeks to build representative leadership, foster work environments where researchers can bring their whole selves, and engage with diverse communities across the life sciences. The deai program consists of four opportunities: cares, lead, seed, and friends. Cares helps alleviate financial burdens associated with caregiving, allowing members to pursue critical professional development opportunities. Lead is a reverse mentoring program that pairs an early-career mentor with a senior-level mentee to foster exchange of different perspectives of individual, group, and broader cultural views. Seed is a cohort program focused on developing skills critical to helping participants navigate key educational and professional transitions.

Dataworks! - is an initiative that brings the biological and biomedical research communities together to advance human health through data sharing and reuse. Dataworks! Features four components to foster this culture change. Dataworks! Salons provide conversation spaces for biological and biomedical researchers to exchange ideas and design effective practices for data sharing and reuse. The dataworks! Prize recognizes research teams for their efforts integrating data sharing and reuse to advance human health and discovery. Dataworks! Community enables individual researchers and research teams to hone skills and mentor peers in data management and sharing, while the dataworks! Help desk provides guidance to for the research community to navigate and adopt data sharing and reuse policies and practices.
