Research: fix the court conducted research into supreme court justices and lower-court federal judges' travels, finances, family relationships, and other potential conflicts of interest to determine any lapses that may have occurred. It researched the financial disclosure practices of state supreme court justices in all 50 states, monitored how many federal judges had posted their disclosures online, tracked gifts to judges and justices, and monitored their appearances outside the courtroom, including those that were not publicized in the popular press or on their financial disclosures, in order to determine compliance with various ethics rules.
