Prosper center programs - tax help, health coverage, financial wellnessfoundation communities' community tax help programs in austin, dallas and arlington provided free income tax return preparation services for low-income taxpayers that received $42,971,618 million in tax refunds. More than 741 staff and volunteers prepared 30,550 tax returns. The health coverage program helped 5,421 people enroll in health insurance, claiming $40,184,216 in premium tax credits. Additionally, the health coverage and benefits assistance programs helped 2,160 people apply for chip or medicaid. Using our financial wellness services, 212 residents received more than $199,914 in emergency rent or utility assistance funds and 501 residents participated in a program designed to improve their credit scores.
Learning in a community - youth and adult learning546 elementary children took part in free after-school and summer learning center programs for elementary and 62 participated in teen out of school time programs. Additionally, adults are provided with onsite and virtual esl classes, digital literacy support, as well as college and career coaching. 275 adults participated in our adult education programs, including 179 through esl, and 96 through digital literacy. The college hub provided college support services to 796 students through individual appointments and secured $985,284 in grants and scholarships. The team facilitated or participated in 22 total community events, connecting with 1,287 total attendees. 138 succeed students with 1340 student appointments. Our career project served 113 new individuals in the past year.
Healthy living - health and wellness supportive programming is provided at no cost to residents and the community. Services and programs include health education, physical fitness, on-site healthy food pantries, health screenings and vaccinations, health coordination/chronic disease management through community health workers and employee wellness programming. In 2024, 13,778 people participated in health initiatives programming which included 1,602 fitness and health education participants and 12,176 health and nutrition service participants. The austin and north texas food pantries provided 372,691 pounds of food in 2024. Additionally, 383 doses of flu vaccine and 51 doses of covid-19 vaccine were provided at onsite clinics.creating housing where families succeed.
