Programs
2 programs
Tree nursery - the tree pittsburgh heritage nursery (nursery) was created to grow species of trees that, when planted, will increase the genetic biodiversity in the region. The majority of seeds used in propagation are collected from local specimen trees and grown on the nursery's site.
Education programs - tree pittsburgh manages the tree tender program whereby volunteers (tree tenders) receive education on tree care and planting techniques, tree identification, and urban forest history. Tree tenders continue to volunteer to care for and plant trees and they receive continuing education. In addition, tree pittsburgh offers a diverse series of tree-related classes to the general public throughout the year for both children and adults alike.
