Mission

For more than four decades, haven has been bozemans trusted community partner in providing safe shelter, support (including a 24-hour support line and legal advocacy), and counseling for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, sex trafficking, and stalking. We also work to prevent violence before it starts, through presentations in the community, youth programs with partners, and in-person and digital outreach. We have a proven track record of making a difference for survivors and for our community.haven is committed to reducing the incidence and minimizing the impact of domestic abuse on families and communities.

Programs

9 programs

Support line: haven operates a 24-hour support line to provide resources and help to anyone impacted by abuse. Our support line is staffed with advocates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In 2024, haven added an online chat and a texting feature to the support line to increase accessibility.

Legal advocacy: legal advocates support survivors of domestic violence, sex trafficking, sexual assault, and stalking as they work through the court system. The legal advocate explains general court procedures and paperwork and offers support to individuals navigating the legal process. This often includes assisting survivors when filing temporary or permanent orders of protection.

Counseling and support groups: haven counselors provide individual therapy sessions. One-on-one sessions address issues regarding self-esteem, understanding needs, recognizing feelings, learning effective ways to communicate with others, healing from abuse and personal growth. Individual therapy is a participant driven process where participants set personal goals they would like to achieve during individual sessions.

Expenses: $155K

End the silence: haven's survivor speakers' bureau, end the silence, is designed to empower survivors by speaking out against domestic abuse. The group gives between 1220 presentations to community members annually in an effort to reduce the stigma of experiencing domestic violence and to build the community's understanding.

Expenses: $54K
