Helpline, outreach, & enrollment - hcfa's helpline is the only statewide multilingual phone service that helps massachusetts residents at all income levels enroll in health insurance coverage, answer questions about health insurance, and troubleshoot cases. The helpline takes over 25,000 calls a year in english, spanish, portuguese, haitian creole and french, and it acts as a feedback loop so that systemic issues or trends heard on the helpline can be shared with stakeholders and decision makers.

Expenses: $717K

Community engagement - hcfa's community engagement team partners with over 50 local community- and faith-based organizations to conduct grassroots outreach and education work across the state. As part of this work, hcfa has run large-scale health care and public health campaigns focused on covid-19 vaccinations and masshealth redeterminations. Hcfa also works together with these partners to address local health care issues.
