Programs

1 program

COMMUNITY OUTREACH & EDUCATION: Houston Audubon reached over 10,000 people while delivering 300 education and outreach programs at its sanctuaries and across the region, including school visits, camps, field trips, bird walks and surveys, and community events. This year, a popular new bird art series for adults, Brush & Beak, was introduced at the Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary in west Houston. In addition, Houston Audubon continued to build relationships with underserved communities and to engage individuals reflective of Houston's diversity. Outreach efforts focused primarily on five Houston neighborhoods: Gulfton, Alief, Sunnyside, Park Place, and Third Ward, and included bird walks, native garden plantings, and participation in community events.
