International Funders For Indigenous Peoples

Influencing philanthropy: ifip supports grant-makers in strengthening, developing, and adopting funding strategies and practices that value indigenous peoples, respect their rights, and incorporate their values in the "what and "how" of engaging with indigenous communities. Ifip also advocates philanthropy for direct access to funding for indigenous peoples organizations. Ifip does this by organizing webinars, conducting research and documentation, connecting funders to indigenous peoples organizations, and engaging in the philanthropic ecosystem to amplify indigenous philanthropy. Ifip hosted events, dialogues, and regional consultations, and published two funding trends reports and three funding practices guides. Ifip also invested in our communications capacity by rolling out new branding and website.

Indigenous led funds ifip is raising the profile and visibility of indigenous led funds (ilfs) at a global philanthropy ecosystem level. Ifip published articles, connected funds to each other, and hosted dialogues and meetings to bring attention to the leadership role indigenous led funds play in philanthropy. Ultimately, we see the knowledge, cultural, rights, and values-based approach and practices of ilfs, enhancing and influencing the philanthropic sector.
