Jewish Family Services (JFS) offers a continuum of multi-generational services that enhance the health, well-being, and dignity of families and older adults in our local community. JFS is the social services department of the Jewish federation of greater Indianapolis. Jewish Family Service runs many social service programs such as KAVOD (helps expand outreach to holocaust survivors living in Indianapolis area). The goal of the program is to reduce barriers to services, promote socialization and prevent re-traumatization, Popsie's Pantry (food and household items assistance to those in need), counseling and case management, economic assistance and transportation services in economic crisis and more.
JFGI's engagement department runs a variety of programs to support Jewish experiences throughout the greater Indianapolis area and connects people to the Jewish community. We provide programming for people of all ages with direct programming geared towards families with young children, school aged children and young adults. Program partners include PJ Library, Honeycomb, and the Indianapolis Public Library. Additionally, we provide resources to the broader community through the Maurer Jewish Community Library, which is part of the Indianapolis Public Library shared system.
