June 4: climatech sustainable innovation showcase -- as part of massachusetts governor maura healey's first annual climatech conference, the jfk library hosted a vip "green gala" reception for approximately 300 in-person guests showcasing companies and innovators who are on the front lines of the energy revolution. The event included a keynote by philippe cousteau, jr., grandson of the great oceanographer jacques cousteau.september 12: earthshot innovation challenge ceremony -- nearly 300 people gathered at the jfk library to celebrate the finalists in the inaugural earthshot innovation challenge: northeast u.s. Edition ceremony. The challenge ignites northeast-u.s.-based innovations that promise to make meaningful positive change in one of the five earthshots: protect and restore nature; clean our air; revive our oceans; build a waste-free world; and fix our climate. The ceremony celebrated three game-changing climate innovations -- afterlife ag, cellsense, and it's electric and included remarks from u.s. These audiences connect with president kennedy's leadership, style, and humanity, and they appreciate the opportunity to discover historical artifacts, letters, stories, and people from president kennedy's administration. Our audiences also highly value the importance of the historical record, democratic principles, and public service ideals he championed throughout his political career. In 2024, the marketing team launched a new ooh (out-of-home) campaign aimed at increasing attendance and visibility with a vibrant "experience the jfk library" campaign featuring the creation of bus wraps and signage on strategic mbta bus routes, billboards, logan airport, and old town trolleys. On social media, 500,000 followers were reached across various channels, including x, facebook, instagram, tiktok, and youtube.

Archives and digital archivesthe kennedy library is a nationally recognized leader in the field of archival digitization, and the digitization program is one of the most robust in the presidential library system. Since its inception in 2006, the kennedy library has furnished online access to approximately 1 million pages of documents, 20,700 photographic images, 3,600 sound recording segments, 1,350 oral history interview transcripts, and 125 motion pictures from the kennedy presidency. The work of the archives digitization program is fundamental to the foundation's strategic plan to support social media and educational platforms that reach, inspire, and activate audiences. In 2024, the collection received 899,500 online views from individuals across the nation and around the world. George denoncourt photograph collectionas of november 14, 2024, the george denoncourt ii photograph collection was digitized, cataloged, and available in its entirety online. This collection contains text and photograph panels that were displayed in the jfk library's 1983 temporary exhibit, "one man's vietnam: through the eyes of combat photographer george denoncourt ii," as well as associated photographic prints taken by denoncourt during his tour of duty in the vietnam war. Kennedy family collectionwork continued in 2024 to fully digitize the kennedy family collection, which was donated to the library by rose fitzgerald kennedy, president kennedy's mother. It contains approximately 6,000 items that document the life and times of the kennedy and fitzgerald families over a span of about 100 years 1878 through 1980. In 2024, the library's archivists completed descriptions of all photographs for searchability online. Quality control of folder contents and structure was ongoing with a target completion date in early 2025.digitization on demandin addition to ongoing collection-specific projects, the archives department performs "digitization on demand" services in response to requests from researchers, in-house staff, and other stakeholders. This fiscal year, 12, 443 items were scanned and are being cataloged for public access on the library's website.
