Khs offered many programs and services to promote responsible pet care and human-animal bond & to prevent animal cruelty. Our humane education department provided critter camps, classroom presentations, scout and club workshops and various service learning projects to over 850 kauai youth. The year-round dog school offered puppy socialization and basic training classes for over 40 families. Additionally, an estimated 35 families received free assistance for their pets from the behavior help-line. Khs is home to one of kauai's off-leash dog parks for members of the agency. Khs' 99 volunteers gave over 4500 hours of service to all the programs.
Khs performed spay/neuters, administered vaccines, implanted microchip identifications, and performed other veterinarian care of animals.
