Kentucky heartwood seeks to protect and restore the integrity, stability, and beauty of kentuckys native forests and biotic communities through research, education, advocacy, and community engagement.

Community engagement: we continue to focus our community engagement efforts within our kentucky heartwood community and within the broader environmental activist and general public communities. Activities include hikes to areas of the dbnf of proposed logging projects, an educational public zoom presentation, presentation to kentucky sierra club, our rise n roots educational program for elementary school children and educating community members about the public can participate in the forest service decision making process.
