Training & education program: lcht's public awareness goals are to deliver anti-trafficking training to targeted professional groups and diverse community audiences across colorado. The total number of people trained in 2024 was 10,681, reaching 46 colorado counties. Our primary audiences included health care and professionals working with systems-involved youth, as well as law enforcement. In collaboration with the hotline team, lcht hosted three labor exploitation events in 2024 to further the reach and awareness of the hotline and the resources people can access by calling.

Expenses: $269K

Community-based research + action program: lcht's goal in conducting research is to contribute data-driven insights to the broader anti- trafficking field and advance a comprehensive response. In 2024, we continued rolling out the 2023 action plan recommendations by attending partnership meetings in person and virtually across the state, presented findings at three conferences, and hosted a partnership convening in march 2024, with representatives from every human trafficking partnership in the state. We conducted focus groups around some select "root causes" of human trafficking with native american, lgbtqia+ communities and advocates working in housing and immigration systems.

Expenses: $168K

Leadership development program: to prepare human rights leaders and survivors with the knowledge, skills, and professional development opportunities necessary to contribute to the anti-trafficking movement, lcht leads three 10-week sessions each year. In 2024, nine interns were selected, bringing the total number of lcht interns to 210 since the program began in 2005. Lcht offered scholarship opportunities for three participants, with the goal to create greater accessibility to the program.

THIS PROJECT INVOLVES AN INNOVATIVE APPROACH TO STOP THE DEVASTATION OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING BY TRAINING HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS AND STAFF IN HEALTHCARE SETTINGS. RESEARCH SHOWS THAT MOST TRAFFICKING VICTIMS ARE SEEN AT SOME POINT BY A HEALTHCARE PROVIDER, BUT THESE PROFESSIONALS ARE NOT TRAINED TO INTERVENE. HEALTHCARE CONTACT IS A CRITICAL CHANCE TO STOP TRAFFICKING SITUATIONS AND TREAT SURVIVORS.
