Mission
Los Angeles Indigenous Peoples Alliance (LAIPA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit grassroots organization founded in 1991 as collective of indigenous people and persons of conscience. Our mission is to promote the continued development of indigenous communities by organizing health, economic development and cultural education projects in Los Angeles and the surrounding areas. LAIPA is a woman-centered organization whose goal is to provide a space for indigenous women and their families to free the power and strength that they hold and become a positive force for change in their family and community.
Programs

Calmecac is the name for the cultural preservation program. We hold in person and online classes on indigenous math, Mayan and Aztec Calendar, Traditional Healing Methodologies, and the Mexica Dialectic Process.
Aztlanahuac Cultural Embassy facilitates learning of those connections that bind virtually all "maiz-based" peoples and cultures with the goal of seeing themselves as part of living interconnected cultures, giving them a sense of thousands of years of belonging that can be found in Teotihuacan. We hold a retreat site for guest who visit our cultural embassy in Teotihuacan Mexico.
