Promote the common good and the general welfare of the people of louisiana through the advancement of reverence for human life by reaffirming the principle that all human beings from the moment of conception are created equal and are endowed with certain rights among which is the right to life.

>>> pro-life education programs motivated youth in january may of 2024 <<<during january through may of 2024, we continued our mission to empower young people to protect life and help moms through numerous pulse youth events and presentations.21 students were expertly trained at one pulse immersion day. Our youth team made 61 pro-life presentations to 4,862 students at schools and churches around the state. We impacted another 2,072 young people through our geaux forth event, outreaches online, at events, on college campuses, and other efforts. We continued to train, facilitate and educate college pro-life. During this time, there were 9 active college pro-life groups, with the addition of a pro-life student group at lsu medical school in new orleans. As a part of our youth outreach, we brought melissa ohden in march to speak at high schools and to adult audiences in the acadiana area. Melissa shares her powerful story of surviving an abortion as an unborn child.during this time, we continued our "they're human too" college exhibit which visited multiple colleges, including louisiana state university twice and southeastern louisiana university. The exhibit furthered productive conversation and education on louisiana colleges and universities about life. Also on college campuses, louisiana right to life assisted efforts of on lsu's campus to raised funds for pregnancy help centers through the "pie a pro-lifer" outreach.

>>> louisiana right to life advocated at the capitol and beyond to protect life and help moms <<<during this period, louisiana right to life supported the important the important legislative advocacy of the louisiana right to life federation. As a result, multiple pieces of pro-life and pro-mom legislation was passed at the state capitol. Legislation included: the louisiana pregnancy and baby care initiative act by senator katrina and representative jack mcfarland establishes a new support program for women facing unplanned pregnancies and offers a full range of services including pregnancy support, parenting help, and adoption assistance. It provides pregnancy resource centers continue their efforts to provide boots-on-the-ground assistance to women who may otherwise consider abortion as their only option. The compatible with love empowerment act by senator rick edmonds updates existing law to ensure that parents whose unborn children are diagnosed with a fetal genetic anomaly can receive information to assist them in caring for their child before and after birth. The adoption awareness act by senator rick edmonds creates a new program that promotes the benefits of infant adoption. This program will educate louisiana citizens on adoption options and the benefits of infant adoption to birth mothers, babies, and adoptive families.louisiana right to life released educational information during this period about the dangers of abortion pills being shipped through the mail. These pills can harm the health of a woman if she has an undiagnosed ectopic pregnancy. Further, the pills can be used in nefarious manners by predators, such as in the situation of catherine herring.in this period, louisiana right to life provided one luminary publication to our luminary members, churches and other citizens and groups around the state. The luminary, a full-color print publication, includes in depth coverage of current pro-life issues, lartl events, and more. Louisiana right to life continued to be a regular participant in local and national media through interviews and other engagements.

>>> louisiana right to life advertised to help moms in louisiana <<<in january through may, louisiana right to life made grants to support the advertise for life initiative connects women in unexpected pregnancies, through strategic digital advertising, to our incredible network of nearly 40 pregnancy centers across the state, along with an abundance of public and private social services available to them. Since 2019, this initiative has saved over 110 precious babies! In 2024, louisiana right to life continued to promote findhelpla.com, a sophisticated online resource that provides location-based listings of help available to pregnant and parenting families, to thousands of people across the state. This help includes housing assistance, childcare, financial and material support, legal aide, and more!in january through may of 2024, our advertise for life ads were seen 10,963 times, clicked on 877 times, and generated 107 phone calls through our program.to support these efforts, in april, we hosted our annual bowties for babies soiree in baton rouge where we honored the baton rouge youth pilgrimage to the march for life with our annual leadership for life award. There were over 200 people in attendance, and it was a beautiful night at the capitol park museum.to be connected to choose life license plate program >>> louisiana right to life provided grants to agencies through the choose life license plate program <<<the louisiana choose life license plate program is managed by louisiana right to life and has distributed more than $630,000 to pro-life pregnancy centers and adoption agencies since its inception in 1999. In january of 2024, louisiana right to life oversaw the disbursement of $31,500 to 21 pro-life pregnancy centers, adoption agencies, and other organizations across louisiana.
