Mission
MLOVs mission is to foster leadership and provide tools for greater civic participation of immigrants in DC who do not speak English as their primary language in solutions that impact their lives.
Programs
3 programs
Economic Justice: MLOV supports immigrant worker-led initiatives to protect worker rights. We provide resources to DC immigrant workers to help them protect their rights at work and advance economically, through Know Your Rights workshops, individual consultations, and referrals to partner organizations.
Case Management and Basic Needs Support: We provide direct services to immigrants to help them access social services, benefits and basic needs like unemployment benefits, housing, diapers, and healthcare. We also ensure long term improvements through enrolling and/or referring clients to financial assistance, educational and skill-building programs, career development, public benefits, immigration legal services, and job matching programs.
