Marcus A Foster Educational Institute

Scholarshipssince 1973 the organization has given thousands of scholarships to oakland's graduating seniors to attend colleges and universities across the country. Last year, with the generous support of oakland's business community, california-based private foundations, local community organizations, and former marcus foster scholarship recipients, the fund presented over 200 scholarships to students from oakland and across the bay area.

East bay college access networkthe east bay college access network is an oakland-based collaborative dedicated to eliminating systemic barriers to college access, persistence, and completion for all students in oakland, the east bay, and beyond. The can's initial focus centered on improving access and eligibility for low income students to receive financial aid.

(1) fund for teachersbenefiting oakland public school teachers through a partnership with houston-based fund for teachers, fund for teachers awards fellowships for summer learning experiences to prek-12 teachers, empowering them to pursue their passions and pique student engagement.(2) fiscal sponsorshipsmarcus foster education fund (mfef) provides full administrative support to programs and agencies required to have non-profit status for the purposes of receiving grant support and providing needed community services. Mfef currently serves as the fiscal sponsor of several projects that work in tandem with oakland public schools to provide support and development for students, teachers and families.
